Read the Overview page

The Overview is the first page you see after signing in. It answers "how's business today?" in one screen: how much you sold, how many sales, what was discounted, when you were busiest, how people paid and what sold best.

The three summary cards

  1. 1 Net Revenue — what you actually took: completed sales minus refunds. The smaller Gross figure underneath is before refunds.
  2. 2 Transactions — the number of completed sales, and how many refunds there were. Voided sales aren't counted.
  3. 3 Discounts — the total discount given, and what share of gross sales it was.
  4. 4 The % badge compares with the period just before. On Today, +68% means today's revenue is 68% higher than yesterday's. Green is up, red is down.

TipIf Discounts is a big share of gross sales, check who is giving them in Reports › Approvals.

Sales chart, Summary PDF and payment methods

  1. 1 Revenue by Hour — for a single day, one bar per hour, so you can see your busy and quiet times. For longer periods it changes to Daily Revenue, one bar per day.
  2. 2 Summary PDF — downloads a one-page report for the chosen period: revenue, refunds and discounts, gross profit, number of sales, refunds and voids, payment breakdown and top products. Handy for your records or your accountant.
  3. 3 Payment Methods — how much came in by Cash, QR, Card and so on, with each one's share. Split means a customer paid with more than one method; hover over it to see the mix.
TipUse Revenue by Hour to plan staff. Put your most experienced cashier on the counter at your busiest hours.

Top Products

Scroll down to see your 20 best-selling products for the period, ranked by revenue:

  1. 1 Product name, with the quantity sold underneath.
  2. 2 Revenue from that product.
  3. 3 A green margin badge means 30% profit or more.
  4. 4 An amber badge means between 0% and 30%. A red badge means you sold it at a loss.
Margins need a cost priceThe margin is worked out from each product's Cost Price. A product with no cost price shows a 100% margin, which isn't real. Add cost prices to your products so these numbers are correct. See Profit & margin for the full picture.
